In case you missed it! Saturday Night Life “Amy Poehler” and her husband Will Arnett welcomed their first son last Saturday, October 25 th. The couple named their new baby Archie Arnett who weighed in at 8lbs., 1oz.

On the NBC live sketch comedy show, fellow cast mate Seth Meyers sat at the Weekend Update desk and announced, “I’m Seth Meyers. Amy Poehler is not here because she is having a baby.” 

The Update segment ended with SNL alum Maya Rudolph — who had returned to play Michelle Obama, wife to Sen. Barack Obama — singing Can’t Take My Eyes off of You with Keenan Thompson, replacing the lyrics “Oh pretty baby” with “We love you, Amy” in tribute to the new mom.

Poehler manned the anchor desk Oct. 18 and performed a rather memorable Alaska rap. as Governor Sarah Palin moved to the rhythm with her hands up. She had success earlier in the year in the big-screen Baby Mama with former SNL cast mate Tina Fey. Poehler has said that she won’t return to SNL once her maternity leave is done.
